Et in Arcadia Ego

Et in Arcadia Ego

They said you were lost,
swept away in a tempest
of broken vowels
and compromised predicates.

I told them that you were no such thing,
that you were simply slumbering somewhere,
dreaming up a way to come back to me.
But I was wrong.

Maybe it is I who is lost.

About cjchaffin

Wordsmithing is my passion. I eat, sleep, and breathe words and phrases, only to regurgitate them and pray that they are better off than when I first ingested them.
