Drained

Steam soothes
bruised skin;
hot water
washes away sin.

The sting of soap
reminds her of him,
fast asleep while she cries,
teardrops circling the shower drain
along with blood and lies.

Wordsmithing is my passion. I eat, sleep, and breathe words and phrases, only to regurgitate them and pray that they are better off than when I first ingested them.
