Mileage

baby photos
lost teeth
little bow ties

graduation photos
report cards
first pay stub

wedding photos
weathered Bible
old poems

an afternoon spent with the curator
of things I’ve never needed to save—
Mom sips her tea and I my brandy,
jogging down memory lane
at several years per hour

About cjchaffin

Wordsmithing is my passion. I eat, sleep, and breathe words and phrases, only to regurgitate them and pray that they are better off than when I first ingested them.
